SCA – Magnus Bergman

A solution that provides security - every day, all year round.

Challenge

At the heart of SCA Forest’s business is – the forest. This means that many of its employees work alone and often in remote locations. To meet its responsibilities as an employer, SCA needed a personal alarm that really works in all situations – and that provides security for both staff and management.

Solution

SCA chose GDM’s Sankt Bernhard service – a personal and social alarm with a manned alarm center around the clock. The alarm is used via an app, physical button or SPOT device that alerts via satellite where there is no coverage. In the event of an alarm, GDM contacts the user directly, prioritizes the event and, if necessary, alerts SOS Alarm or the nearest manager – all according to clear routines.

The result

With GDM’s alarm service, both employees and employers know that help is always close at hand. The alarm center is staffed by personnel trained in crisis management, which provides an extra layer of security. For SCA, this has meant increased safety in the field and a reliable system that meets employer responsibilities.

Facts about SCA

SCA was founded in 1929 through a merger of some ten Swedish forestry companies. In 2017, the SCA Group was split into two listed companies – the hygiene-oriented Essity and the forest-based SCA, which today is Europe’s largest private forest owner.

Peace of mind starts with the push of a button – but it means everything. For SCA Skog employees, the alarm service is not just a technical solution, but a lifeline. With GDM’s manned alarm center, satellite-based backup and trained crisis personnel, help is always close at hand – no matter where you are in the forest.

"As employers, we have a duty to ensure that our employees get home from work. GDM helps us with this. "
