Challenge

At the heart of SCA Forest’s business is – the forest. This means that many of its employees work alone and often in remote locations. To meet its responsibilities as an employer, SCA needed a personal alarm that really works in all situations – and that provides security for both staff and management.

Solution

SCA chose GDM’s Sankt Bernhard service – a personal and social alarm with a manned alarm center around the clock. The alarm is used via an app, physical button or SPOT device that alerts via satellite where there is no coverage. In the event of an alarm, GDM contacts the user directly, prioritizes the event and, if necessary, alerts SOS Alarm or the nearest manager – all according to clear routines.

The alarm center is staffed by personnel trained in crisis management, providing an extra layer of security. Facts about SCA

SCA was founded in 1929 through a merger of some ten Swedish forestry companies. In 2017, the SCA Group was split into two listed companies – the hygiene-oriented Essity and the forest-based SCA, which today is Europe’s largest private forest owner.
